A Saturday: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Smell of Cat Pee

Overall, I had a pretty fucking awesome Saturday. The good far outweighed the bad.

But the bad...is kind of really annoying.

Why don't we start from the top?

The Good:

*I decided to celebrate my last Sloppy Saturday. Next week I'll be in Vegas, then I'll be, GASP, TWENTY FIVE. And I'll try.

*My appointment at the dealer took less time than I was expecting, and the guy helping me seemed to take a liking to me. He started calling me "my darling", which I didn't mind. It seemed affectionate, not demeaning. I ate my apple and yogurt with an iced chai latte at Starbucks, read for awhile, and took a little stroll.

*Had my first therapy session back with my main therapist after awhile off. She had surgery and is doing really well now, and she was so stoked to see all the changes I've made. YAY PROGRESS.

*Took myself to lunch at Literati Cafe and had my favorite sandwich, the turkey asparagus affair with pesto and swiss cheese on the most amazing multi grain bread. YUM.

*Sold some clothes at the Crossroads in Santa Monica. Made $30, and that means I can buy flowers at the Farmer's Market tomorrow!

*DOUBLE YOGA!

SEXUAL.

*I ate a Cadbury Creme egg and IT WAS DELICIOUS. Worth every activity point I had to earn to eat it.

The Bad:

*Sure, my appointment didn't take too long. But I did end up having to get all new tires. Thank god for the Bank of Daddy, from which I can borrow via credit card and pay back at my leisure. You think you're starting to get ahead, you get a little tax refund and think maybe you can save, and then BOOM. Your tires are bald. Like your head is going to be if your hair keeps falling out like it does...anyway. I asked my guy if I could drive to Vegas on the tires I had and buy new ones in a few weeks and he got all stern and was like "NO. You are not allowed to drive to Vegas on these tires."

*I bought two pretty new pictures with said tax refund last week even though I shouldn't be buying myself shit that isn't a reward for anything, but they were cheap and awesome, but the ones I want to move are adhered to the wall pretty firmly with sticky things and I think I have to rip them. Bah.

*I'm almost but not quite done cleaning, and my parents are coming to dinner tomorrow after a day out in Westwood so I gotta make my place look amazing. So I think I'm going to get up early, as opposed to finishing now, and I also want to go to yoga in the morning. BECAUSE I AM AN ADDICT. Better than a food addict, right?

Oh, you  just cleaned here? I lay here.

The Ugly Smell of Cat Pee

*Yeah. I woke up this morning, and sniffed. "Huh," I thought to myself. "It kind of smells like cat pee. Did Bentley pee on the new littler mat I bought? Little shit." Back to sleep. Got up, went to the dealer, came home. Discovered, no, the cat apparently just peed himself. On the bed. Luckily not on the comforter, but on the sheet, soaked through to the mattress pad (WHICH I JUST WASHED LAST WEEKEND OF COURSE) and the mattress. And dried. Sigh. I have excellent cleaning products though and get the mattress clean. Of course, I go to wash the sheets and pad, and realize the new detergent I bought last week is actually just fabric softener. Bah. I go to SM then CVS then yoga, come home to wash my shit...and some other loser in my building is doing laundry at 9 on a Saturday night. I should be the only loser doing laundry on a Saturday night! So tragically I am on boring white sheets, and no mattress pad. Ugly.

Life is amazing and annoying.

Saturday Night Sweatin'

What do normal single girls do on Saturday nights in Los Angeles? Get laid? Get drunk? Get wild?

Not me. I do two hours of yoga. IN A ROW. By the end of it, I was completely soaked head to toe, bright red, looking hot as shit I'm sure. I bet the trio of ripped shirtless dudes around me in my second class were just drooling over my deliciously scented self.

And now I'm going to eat a Cadbury creme egg.

'Cause I DESERVE IT.

Friday Links For Some Thinks

Seth MacFarlane Isn't The Problem

A different perspective, and one I think has some merit. Not sure if I totally agree. Any thoughts?

Oh my gosh, this is so wonderful. Tears. My heart. OH THE WORLD.

These are really neat.

Jennifer Lawrence fired up and chilled out

Hanging out in Hawaii, just veggin' out. I knew we were destined to be BFFs.

And, if you're enjoying a smoke like J.Law here, and maybe someone else I know, this will be doubly funny.

Attitude of Gratitude

I had yet another incredible yoga class on my lunch break today. I think I'm starting to get into a groove with my practice. I'm embracing the struggle, and finding new ways to challenge myself. I'm discovering fun in the familiar and the foreign and I'm improving every day.

Today's Friday, which means my favorite teacher's class! She's just the best. I showed up today and she said "Taylor! Hey, baby doll!" It just makes me feel so happy when she acts like she's glad to see me. She's full of positive energy and her flows kick my butt. Love her!

At the beginning of every class at my studio, the instructor asks you to think of something to focus on during your practice---a dedication, a devotion, someone or something you want to honor. Lately I've been trying to focus on, well, focusing. I often let my mind wander during class, trying to escape the heat and the pain, thinking of what I'm going to do later or mentally singing along with the music. I've been doing much better lately, though, staying tuned in to my body and my practice, conscious on my mat, and today Ali said something that really spoke to me. She offered up her own devotion for us to share, that she is trying to have an "attitude of gratitude".

So this is what I focused on during class today, and this is what I am going to share with you all now.

Today I am grateful for:

*My body. It is perfect in its imperfections. All I am is all I need, I can move and turn and run and bend and I am (mostly) healthy and whole and lucky to be me.
*My happiness. It grows every day and I'm in love with it. I wish I could bottle it.
*My parents. I know that no matter what may happen to me in the future, I will always have their support, generosity and love and I will never truly be alone, and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
*My cat. 'Cause duh.
*My best friends, who are so good to me and who are giving me such an awesome birthday trip next week.
*The fact that I live in Southern California, and it's freaking 80 degrees today and GORGEOUS.
*My boobs. They're nice.

WW Recap 2/22-2/28: Woo.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Non-Scale Victories: I'm back in my skinny jeans. I can actually see changes in my body when I look in the mirror. I am starting to feel confident again.
Scale Victory: -3.2 pounds! WHAT?!
Reward: Under 155 again, which is 5% lost from where I started post-hiatus, so I get a mani/pedi next week for my birthday trip to Vegas!

WHAT YOU SAY? VEGAS?!?!

Oh yes! Next weekend, this will be me, with two of my favorite girls in the world, the Biff and the Married Lady, celebrating my quarter century birthday.

Goals for the week?

1) Go to yoga three times. (Yup! Cause I'm a yogi rock star! And two walks.)
2) Go to yoga at night. (Tuesday! And I remembered that I don't avoid going to yoga after work 'cause I'm lazy (though I am), but 'cause the parking situation is a NIGHTMARE, and because it gives me so much energy after and I can't get to sleep before 12. Note to self!)
3) Make a recipe. (Shrimp nuggets!)
4) Read a book. (No! Heh.)
5) Write some fiction. (Eh, a bit? I just don't have the creative juices. Blogging's where it's at!)

COULD I USE MORE !!!!!!!!!!?

Goals for this week! Which, by the way, ends with me leaving for motherfucking VEGAS for my motherfucking BIRTHDAY TRIP. IN CASE YOU FORGOT.

1) Go to yoga five times. (You heard me! I want to be feeling as amazing as possible for my trip, and nothing makes me feel as incredible as a string of sweaty hot hot yoga classes.)
2) Make a recipe.
3) Read a book.
4) Schedule blog posts for while I'm in Vegas so I'm technically posting every day till my bday.
5) Don't weigh myself every day.

Happy March!

HAPPY FREAKING MARCH!

March is my favorite month.

You know why.

In case you haven't marked the date on your calendars, my 25th birthday is March 14th. This is just about the middle of the month. This symmetry entitles me to a week before my birthday to celebrate, and a week after.

(And you know...maybe just the whole month.)

Greedy? You fuckin' betcha.

IT'S BIRTHDAY MONTH FOLKS.

Let's celebrate ME.
