Valley Visit

I've been doing something naughty.

You may have noticed that I posted my last reward rather quickly. Yeah, well, that's 'cause I went ahead and ordered it early, as I was worried it would sell out. Not for any real reason, but it turned out to work in my favor, as it got delivered only a day or two before I hit the weight, and I didn't even open it and peek until Thursday.

And I've gone and done it again.

See, originally, I picked out a comforter online weeks ago that was a little over a hundred dollars, and black and white, and tres tres chic. But then I thought a) what the hell am I doing getting a white comforter when that's what I have now and b) do I really need to spend that much? Non. So, then I thought, maybe I just WON'T BUY ONE. I'll wait.  BUT. Then. I looked on Urban Outfitters, which is the site my current comforter (which is actually just a duvet insert) came from, and lo and behold, I found a gorgeous one, on sale, in the exact colors of my room. FATE.

Turns out they had it in stock at the Studio City UO location, so I went on a field trip today. When I hit insane LA traffic on the way I thought I'd made a poor choice and I should have just ordered it online, but it turned out to be cheaper in the store than online, so it really was just destiny all around. The universe is totally wasting time caring about my decorating scheme.

You don't get to see it yet, though. Not until I make my goal. I'm not using it, or taking it out of the package, or washing it. No no.

You do get to see some photos, though.

Almost left the house schlubby, then
remembered I'M AN ADULT.

Studio City is really cute!

Loved the Barnes and Noble in the old movie theater.

Urban was catering to me.

Stopped into Free People as I need an outfit for the
Fleetwood Mac concert. Where else would you go?
Not that I can afford anything there.

Wasteland is the fancier version of Crossroads. They
would never, ever buy my stuff.

Too many labels! Not enough monies!

Have you ever seen doily overalls?
Now you have.

Reward #6: Nah, Mah Stay Here

I'm such a homebody.

You know this.

I love my apartment, my oasis. And I love making it special and warm and cozy...homey, if you will. I knew I was officially growing up when I started buying decorative items instead of clothes to cheer myself up. And the whole point of this reward system is to buy myself things that make me smile and remind myself of my progress, right?

Now every time I come home to my oasis, and am greeted by my new welcome mat, I'll smile and remember the success I've achieved...and smile 'cause I'm HOME.

Nah, mah stay here for awhile.

Reward #5: Nail Me Twice, No Shame

So, I had a new necklace as my 147 goal. Then way before I hit 147, I ordered myself a little something on Etsy that took awhile to arrive from Mexico.

Rain drops keep falling on my head...

I knew it was going to arrive in the mail around the same time I reached my goal, so obviously a different new necklace was an insufficient reward. So I decided I wanted this, which I do still want real real bad, but today I went for a mani/pedi with College Roomie and Other College Roomie who is visiting from Seattle to celebrate CR's birthday, and I decided that should be my reward, along with the above necklace I purchased for no reason other than wanting to.

LOOK AT ME. FISCALLY MATURE. SO PROUD.

Besides, my 145 reward will be here before you know it...

Proof of loss, I do not have, because my toes were not painted and not pretty. Next time I'll prove it, swearsies.

145 - healthy BMI - Welcome mat.
142 - lowest weight - New comforter.

Reward #4: Scent of a Woman (Duh, revisions.)

Originally, this reward was to be my new comforter. But that's more money than I should be spending at this particular moment in time, so I adjusted.

And my more pressing need was actually perfume.

See?

I have very little left to make me smell good. And smelling good is you know, good, when I'm sweating all the days at hot yoga. Or I should be.

I forgot to take a picture of proof of purchase power, but I promise I'm under 149. I would never lie. (That's a lie, I lie all the time. LIES.)

I went to the Westside Pavilion on my lunch today to make my selections. I didn't want to blow a bunch of money on a FANCY perfume, and I still have a little of my Juicy left anyway. So I bought cheaper stuff from The Body Shop, because I like variety. Plus: buy two get one free!

Atlas Mountain Rose eau de toilette
Vanilla eau de toilette
Madagascar Vanilla Flower perfume oil

Reward #3: Towel Off (And revisions, of course.)

Reward #2

Oh my I just love when I get a new reward! They make me so irrationally happy.

Proof of success.

LOOK. PRETTY GREEN TOWEL.

This is my favorite brand/style of yoga towel, but the one I have is brown. Which is fine, brown is a lovely color, the color of dirt and chocolate and my hair and my eyes, but brown is boring. Green is PRETTY. Like apples and grass and the color I wish my eyes were.

Woohoo towel!

And upcoming goals:

149 - new decade - New comforter.  (Added this number, 'cause I just can't wait to see 149 again, and yeah, I want a new comforter. Mine is gross. And I have one picked out!)
147 - 10% loss -  Mani/pedi again? (I'll probably think of something better.)
145 - healthy BMI - New perfume.
142 - lowest weight - Get a massage.
139 - new decade - Dye hair. (SO IMPATIENT WANT TO DO NOW.)
136 - original goal - Get a facial. (Moved down from above, I can wait.)

10KCAL Challenge Reward: Sephora Slut

By request of an anonymous commenter, I'm going to share with you the plethora of treats I bought myself as a reward for burning all that sweat in my 10K Calorie Challenge! I went a little nuts. Thank you to my parents for the birthday Visa gift card that made this excess possible.

And then I figured, why just tell you what I bought, when I can SHOW YOU?

On my face.

Last night (no, I didn't go anywhere. I got painted up to fuck around my apartment):

  • Laura Mercier Foundation Powder in No. 2 (LOVE!)
  • Laura Mercier Illuminating Powder Blush in Mocha Spice Quad (A donation from my mama to the charity of "Make Taylor Pretty".)
  • Mac Mineralize Concealer in NW15 (Excellent coverage for my zombie circles.)
  • Benefit High Beam Highlighter (Have had this before, am a huge fan.)
  • Sephora Crayon Jumbo Eyeliner in Purple Glitter (Also bought in brown.)
  • Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette (Christmas gift from my parents, obsession.)
  • Benefit They're Real Mascara in Black (Funny story. I was going to buy the full size of this to try, but when I was in the check out line I saw the sample size of the Bad Gal lash, which I love, so I decided to just stick with that. Then lo and behold, because it's my BIRTHDAY MONTH, I got a "birthday turn-on" kit with a highlighter and sample mascara! Turns out, I prefer the other one anyway.)
  • Victoria's Secret Glossy Lip Tint in Boudoir Pink (Bought this in Vegas. PUCKER UP.)

This morning:

  • Foundation, Blush and Concealer
  • Kiss My Face Olive & Aloe Moisturizer (This was a sample in the goodie bag from the Barbara Ireland Walk, and I am OBSESSED. I ordered a full size online, it's my new daily moisturizer.)
  • Sephora Ultra Smoothing Primer (It feels good going on, we'll see how it holds up throughout the day.)
  • Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter (From my birthday gift from Sephora, a more golden color than the High Beam. I like it for days!)
  • Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette
  • Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara
  • Blistex Silk & Shine (Also from my goodie bag.)

Reward #2: Nail Me (And revisions.)

Reward #1

I am oh so pleased and proud that I timed my second reward to coincide perfectly with my Las Vegas trip. The Biff and I went to a super cheap salon down the street on Friday morning and our fingers and toes got all dressed up and ready to hit the Strip!

I'm the easter egg turquoise.

151 - less 10ish - This yoga towel.  (I have it in brown and it's my fave.)
147 - 10% loss - Get a facial. (I dunno, they are expensive and I might change this one...)
145 - healthy BMI - New perfume. (Formerly new comforter, but what with Bentley peeing on my bed, maaaaybe I'll hold off for now...and I bought a cheap fleece blanket at Marshalls a few weeks ago because I have replaced a food addiction with a shopping addition and it is so cute so, yeah.)
142 - lowest weight - Get a massage.
139 - new decade - Lululemon yoga pants.
136 - original goal - Dye my hair.
132 - college weight - New purse.
130 - Final Goal! - SHOP!
Maintenance Goal - Whenever I'm ready - Tattoo (I realized I am going to want to wait until I feel secure in my new skin before I want to go inking it up. Six months maybe?)

Reward #1: Oh Sheet! (And a revision.)

I officially hit my first reward yesterday! I was nearly there last week, but not quite, so I waited to buy my sheets, 'cause I'm accountable. Chya.

I bitched yesterday that I couldn't find the set I had hidden at Marshalls, but I went back to double check and lo and behold I found them exactly where I thought I had put them. Either I'm crazy or...I'm crazy. Yeah.

Look!

And look!

His highness approves.

They are gloriously velvety soft and so purty and I have extra special reason to stay in bed now. And they make me extremely happy considering they're just sheets. But when I walk back into my room from the kitchen or bathroom and I see my bright purple bed, it makes me smile, and that makes it a perfect little weight loss reward. And they were SO CHEAP.

Yayyyy!

Upcoming rewards:

155 - 5% loss - Get a mani/pedi.
151 - less 10ish - This yoga towel. (Used to be new placemats, but I don't even use the ones I HAVE. Silly.)
147 - 10% loss - Get a facial.
145 - healthy BMI - Find a new comforter.
142 - lowest weight - Get a massage.
139 - new decade - Lululemon yoga pants.
136 - original goal - Dye my hair.
132 - college weight - New purse.
130 - Final Goal! - Tattoo and SHOP!
