Explore LA #1: Beverly Hill Redux

So remember how my Explore LA #1 was kind of a fail?

Well, I was up very early this morning, so before an appointment (more on this later), I stopped in the BH to take some better pictures for you all.

Oh, yeah, and in case you're wondering what happened to Explore LA #3...I was out of town every weekend in March. THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT. I'll catch up. Eventually.

Explore LA #2: Hollywood Sign Hike

I get to check off #1 on my Birthday List: I hiked to the Hollywood Sign today. I Googled, and chose the PG route on this page.

BAM BITCH.

1) It was a very large hill.

2) It took a long time, and I burned a lot of calories.

BAM BITCH, SQUARED.

It was rough, but totally worth it. I took a lot of mini breaks on our way up the BIG MOUNTAIN, basically any time my heart rate jumped up past 185, and The Married Lady and her doggy Gracie patiently waited for me. I just love Gracie, she is the most well trained pup I've had the pleasure of spending time with and she's oh so darn cute!

Run. Chase balloon. Rest.

But yeah, seriously, wonderful. I struggled a bit towards the end, especially once we were so close to the top and around every corner I was sure we were there, but once we finally made it I was so happy I suffered through. The views were fabulous if a bit hazy, as they usually are in LA. You know, the smog and all.

I just have such deep, abiding affection for the Hollywood sign. It's silly but I don't give a fuck. It's just SO classic LA. Being so close to it made me a little giddy. I've always said it's one of my life goals to live with a view of it some day, and I hope that comes true.

I'm proud of myself for going.

Explore LA #1: Beverly Hills

One of my resolutions for the year was to "explore somewhere new in LA" every month. I've kind of already failed, because I'm amending my resolution and it's only the first month. I've decided the place doesn't have to be "new"...'cause there just aren't that many new places for me to go, you know? And I'm lazy. So the edited goal is "explore a different place in LA every month and post pictures". Easy peasy.

Today, I have for you...Beverly Hills! 90210! Lamborghinis and Rolls Royces! Chanel bags everywhere! Lots of Botox! Clean streets! Diagonal crosswalks! The list goes on.

I definitely don't belong in Beverly Hills. But whenever I happen to be there, strutting down Rodeo, I like to pretend I'm famous. It's pretty easy when everything around you is so very fancy.

Okay, I'll confess: I did not go to BH for the express purpose of exploring for this post. I happened to be there for an appointment (twice). And the second time, today, I intended to stroll for awhile and take pics, but my appointment started 45 minutes late, so by the time I was done I had to rush back to work. So, yeah, this month is still kind of a resolution fail, and these pictures suck but you know what? I no curr. Except I do, and I'll go back to BH in a few weeks and take more/better pictures. Okay? OKAY!
