Blink Or You'll Link It

18 Amazing Things You Most Likely Never Get To See

Buzzfeed, of course. Who else would find a gif of ice cream sandwiches being made?

SO MUCH LOVE.

Lady Gaga rants under oath in pay battle with former personal assistant

Daaaamn. I always thought her whole "little monster I'm so wonderful and kind" thing was such a crock of schtick, but man. I didn't even know. What a wonderfully crazy bitch. You really need to read this whole thing to the very end.

The Race Grows Sweeter Near Its Final Lap

And on the complete opposite spectrum from a story about a narcissistic pop princess, I have a story about an elderly couple falling in love and getting married. Simple. Beautiful.

Weekend Happenings

Ahhh, weekend. I wait for you for days, counting the hours seconds minutes, and then when you arrive I barely know what to do with you.

That's half a lie. Sometimes, I don't know what to do with you, and I spend all day in bed, and it is glorious. But this time, yes, I have plans.

Of course you want to hear them!

First up is lunch with the parental duo at one of my favorite healthy spots in Santa Barbara, Silvergreens. I'm thinking I'll stray away from my usual shrimp, avocado and goat cheese salad and maybe get the ahi tuna one. I KNOW. So wild and crazy.

After lunch, Mama and I are going to the SBIFF Women's Panel, which is made up of, you guessed it, women in the entertainment business. They haven't released the speakers in advance but word on the street is that it's a great line up this year, so I'm looking forward to it.

Then I will force my father to help me do my taxes, cause I am tragically poor and I want my refund, dammit.

Then, more food, because that's what I center my life around. We're meeting up with a friend of my mother's for dinner at Carlito's, a Mexican place near the theater, before the award presentation for Jennifer Lawrence.

YAYYYY!!!!

I have a couple of little posts scheduled for you throughout the day, but I'll be back tomorrow with recaps of today's awesome goings-ons! Hopefully I'll have news of me and J.Law's new BFF-dom.

Oh, and after the event I will go hang out with my actual BFF. Hopefully she won't be insulted that I tried to replace her.

Haaaaa.

I'm so guilty of many of these. Specifically the side braid and the various buns.

Why I'm Single...For Now

Hotties of the 2013 Super Bowl

So, I guess there's this big football game thing on Sunday. People seem really excited about it.

I don't care.

Puppy Bowl? Sure. (AND SPEAKING OF WHICH, go behind the scenes!) Football? Meh. I mean, if I had a team, it would be the 49ers, as they are my dad's team, and I remember going to a game when I was a kid, but I just...I don't. I don't care. And I don't feel like trying.

But hot men? Yes. Yes, I can get behind hot men. And thus I present, via the ever helpful Buzzfeed...

Hotties of the 2013 Super Bowl

(Of course, please tell me why they start off with the murderer dude? That's the only Raven I know...)

Teenie Yogini

Today I learned that while a male yoga practitioner is a yogi, a female one is actually a yogini. Unfortunately my lunchtime class today was devoid of the usual plethora of sweaty, ripped, masculine eye candy, but actually it turned out to be an awesome class. A room full of yoginis all giggling has a pretty great energy.

Plus, I have a new favorite teacher! When I returned to yoga a few weeks ago I started off with a few basic level one, non-heated classes, and they were led by an instructor I'd never had before. She taught the level two heated class today, and apparently it was her first time doing so. It was an AWESOME hour, starting with the second I walked in the door and she greeted me with a huge smile and an enthusiastic, "Taylor!!! I am so glad you're here!" I don't care if she was lying, it made me feel awesome.

And I felt strong today. Sure, I spent a good chunk of the last half of class laying in child's pose, but I keep improving my chatarungas, and today I felt so centered in all my balancing postures. My downward dog felt solid. My limbs were long and powerful.

If I feel like this after just a couple of class back, imagine how I'll feel in just a few more weeks?

WW Recap 1/25-1/31: WIN

I'M SO HAPPY TODAAAAAAY.

Why? Because I am a motherfucking winner.

Down 3.6 pounds. Almost back to the 150s. I haven't binged in almost two weeks. My fat jeans are baggy again. I don't cringe when I look in the mirror. I started on medication and am taking steps to take care of myself. Things are looking up.

And...

1) Track every day. (Booyah, baby.)
2) Go to yoga twice. (Sunday and Tuesday.)
3) Make at least one new recipe. (Check!)
4) Read a book. (Check plus! The Body Finder, creepy and good.)
5) Do something social. (Double check! Dinner party with my SB group of friends on Wednesday, and dinner last night with college roomie.)

Let's see, goals for next week...

1) Get my GHGs every day. (These are the "good health guidelines as dictated by Weight Watchers: water, dairy, fruit/veggies, healthy oils, vitamin. Also, exercise, but I won't do that every day.)
2) Go to yoga three times.
3) Leave my laptop at home three weeknights.
4) Do three things on my birthday list.
5) Email a friend I haven't talked to in awhile.

Happy February

Oh hello, February! Didn't see you there. You certainly snuck up on me right quick. Seems like just yesterday you were merely a twinkle in the eye of the New Year.

You're a pretty decent month, February, all things considering. You're short, which I like, as well as mathematically comfortable for a mildly OCD person such as myself. Exactly four weeks long. Easily divisible in my mind.

And you're right before March, which we all know is the best month. The birthday month. But that doesn't mean I want to rush through you, no, I will enjoy you, savor you, like a particularly delicious appetizer. Pigs in a blanket, maybe.

Okay, February. It's you and me. Four weeks together.

So much can be done in four weeks.

Let's focus.
