The Return of LTB

Just when we thought he was out, he...pulled himself back in? Jumped back in? Or something. That was going to be a hilarious opening, I swear, and then I kind of lost the joke and I don't even know what's going on right now and I can't figure out how to get out of this sentence HELP MEEEEEEE.

Let's try again.

LTB texted me last night, asking me to dinner and a movie on Wednesday. I know, right? Ten days after our last date. At first I was like, harrumph, and then I was like, hmmm.

Golly gee, I am an incredible writer today. It's really mindblowing, the way I have with words.

ANYFUCKINGWAY.

At first I was a bit miffed that it took him that long to ask me out again, long enough that I had entirely written him off and almost forgotten what he looks like. (Cute, one assumes.) But really, a week and a half isn't that long, and he's sort of busy being all intellectual and scholarly and what not. So he gets a pass on that.

Basically it seems like we're both on the same page, in that we've enjoyed each other's company but aren't feeling any crazy chemistry. If he was wild about me, he would have gotten in touch a lot sooner, and if I was wild about him I would have been far more disappointed when I didn't hear from him right away.

So what's the harm in dinner and a movie? I like dinner, and I like movies. I don't have to ascribe some deeper meaning to it.

I told him I'd go.

If nothing else, it gets me out of the house.
